A nonprofit or a corporate donor can start a challenge at any time. The nonprofit registers with Benefits Optimization, who provides the Challenge infrastructure and manages the entire event. The goal is to enable the nonprofit to raise significant donation is a short period with no cost and zero overhead.
When a nonprofit registers with Benefits Optimization, they are provided with a free team so they can compete with their donors. Benefits Optimization then designs their specific event, creates promotional material, promotes the Challenge to the donor group's employee, and manages the onboarding and orientation. We then manage the entire event right through to the awards ceremony.
Participants are well aware that the Challenge is a fundraiser, and they are highly encouraged to get as many friends and family to sponsor them as possible. Benefits Optimization them with the all tools they'll need to recruit friends and family, as well as the ability to track sponsor pledges and their donations.
To join a Challenge, groups donate directly to their nonprofit based on the number of employees they'd like to participate (see employee bundles here). The nonprofit compensates Benefits Optimization 80% of the gift amount. Benefits Optimization will reimburse the nonprofit 100% of any compensation received if the Challenge does not generate over 200% of a donors gift.

This ensures both the nonprofit and corporate donor that their participation in a Challenge will result in (a) an exponential amount greater than their gift will be raised in new donations, or (b) the nonprofit retains 100% of any donations raised, keep 100% of their donor's gift, and the still donor receives a fantastic employee wellness experience at no cost.
